The word in French meant ‘rebirth’ of the European civilization. The Reformation was the break from the Catholic Church and the birth of Lutheranism or Protestant that was championed by Martin Luther King. The essay will focus on the origin of Renaissance and Reformation explaining the intellectual and artistic renaissance. The Intellectual Renaissance Some of the features that supported the progress of the Renaissance were the intellectual movement, the printing press, music, literature, art, science, economic and society, geography and religion. The printing press demanded the perfect recreation of texts as well as the renovated focus on researching them assisted in triggering the greatest discoveries in the entire history of humanity; printing of movable type (Stephens and John, 2014). Johannes Gutenberg that allowed modern culture to grow developed the printing in 1440. McKay et al. (2011), in the combined volumes depict that the most widespread change in society during this era was the collapse of the feudalism and the rise of the capitalist economy. The Black Death had caused the decrease of labor and increased trade and giving rise to middle-class people working for wages to earn a good living condition, therefore the end of serfdom (Tomlinson and Gary, 3). Independent Spirit Essay There can be a difference between a dependent and independent spirits. Independent spirits can be found in everyone and how your independent spirit can help others. A person with an independent spirit can take care of him or herself. Being a person with an independent spirit can be good: set your own rules and regulations, do jobs and chores whenever you want to, and do whatever you feel like doing. With an independent spirit, you have a lot of freedom. But with a dependent spirit, a person would have limitations and restrictions. A child would have a dependent spirit, relying on his or her parents to help guild and nurture. But, with a dependent spirit, a person wouldnt feel the effects of an independent spirit. An independent spirit would have the stress to work for a living, take care of any children, and payoff bills and other deductions. Everyone has an independent spirit. Some havent found it yet, some used it in his or hers everyday life, and some dont even know that they have one. Young children would be an example of a person who hasnt found it. An adult uses it everyday to get by, to take responsibility for his or hers actions and words. And a person lack abilities to take care of him or herself wouldnt know if he or she had an independent spirit, because he or she may have had special attention at a young age, all the way to adulthood, but didnt know how.
